Coach Oliphant has been coaching for nearly two decades. Coach Oliphant started coaching defensive line at Salisbury HS (2008 & 2009) before joining the coaching staff of his alma mater Mooresville HS (2010-2017) where he coached outside linebackers and defensive backs. He also served as Mooresville's defensive coordinator during the 2016 & 2017 seasons before becoming Lake Norman's head coach in 2018.

Coach Oliphant is entering his 9th season as head coach at Lake Norman High School. With a 53-35 record over the last eight seasons, Coach Oliphant is two wins away from becoming the winningest coach in Lake Norman history. During his tenure, Lake Norman's JV progam holds an overall record of 56-13 including 4 JV conference championships and three perfect seasons. 

Coach Oliphant is the son of a coach. His father, Randy, serves as Lake Norman's safeties coach. Coach Oliphant and his dad have coached together the last 16 seasons. Coach Oliphant and his wife Tracy have two chidlren Jack (7) and Macie (3).

Father to McKinley and Colton and husband to Samantha, Spencer Lasker joined the Lake Norman staff in 2023 as the assistant offensive line coach and took over the unit in 2024. Originally from Commack, NY, Spencer played college football at division 3 Utica College. During his tenure at Lake Norman, Spencer has helped develop and get several student athletes recruited to college programs at all levels. 

Coach Johnson brings nearly two decades of high school coaching experience, with a strong background in defensive development and player preparation for the next level. A former varsity player at Altoona Area High School (1995–1997), he went on to Gannon University, where he was a four-year starter on the offensive line at guard and center.

His coaching career includes:

    •    Salisbury HS – Safeties/Spurs (2007–2012), 2010 State Championship

    •    West Iredell HS – Offensive Assistant (2013)

    •    Jesse C. Carson HS – Linebackers Coach / Defensive Coordinator (2014–2016)

    •    Lake Norman HS – Linebackers Coach (2017–2018), Defensive Coordinator (2019–present)

Coach Johnson is committed to developing disciplined, coachable, and college-ready student-athletes and values strong communication with collegiate coaching staffs throughout the recruiting process. He and his wife, Amy, are proud parents of three daughters, and family remains a central part of his leadership and mentoring philosophy.

Fifth year Assistant Coach under Head Coach Oliphant.   Coach Buck brings Kicking, Punting, Holding, and Long Snapping knowledge and expertise to the program.  As mentored by Dan Orner of Dan Orner Kicking & Punting, Coach Buck applies a form-focused approach to the Specialists positions at Lake Norman HS.  His Specialists have contributed to the team’s success, and have received post season accolades (All-State, All-County, All-Observer, All-Conference) and offers to play at the Collegiate level.

Coach Buck earned his bachelor’s degree from Mount St. Mary’s University (MD), and received his master’s degree from Pfeiffer University (NC).

Buck is married to Sandra Buck, and they have three children, Colleen, Kathleen, and Michael. 

Coach Ellis is a proud alumnus of Lake Norman High School and has been a dedicated member of the football coaching staff for the past three years, where he specializes in coaching the defensive line. Known for his emphasis on toughness, technique, and accountability, Coach Ellis plays a key role in developing disciplined and physical defensive linemen.

A graduate of Lake Norman High School from 2006–2010, Coach Ellis was a standout multi-sport athlete, competing in both football and basketball. He was part of a state championship basketball team, an achievement that helped shape his competitive mindset and team-first approach to athletics.

Following high school, Coach Ellis continued his education at Saint Augustine’s University in North Carolina, where he further developed his leadership skills and passion for mentoring young athletes.

In addition to his high school coaching role, Coach Ellis brings over 10 years of youth coaching experience, having worked extensively with the Powerhouse Youth Program and the PowerCross Christian Ministry Youth Program. Through these programs, he has been committed to teaching not only football fundamentals, but also character, discipline, and faith-based leadership.

Coach Ellis is deeply invested in the Lake Norman community and takes pride in giving back to the program that helped shape him—both on and off the field.

Coach Greene brings nearly a decade of coaching experience, including six years in Iowa before relocating to North Carolina three years ago. Since joining the Wildcats program, he has contributed on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball, demonstrating versatility and a comprehensive understanding of the game.

In addition to his on-field responsibilities, Coach Greene oversees the program’s strength and conditioning, playing a key role in developing athletes’ performance, discipline, and physical readiness. He also serves as the head track coach, further showcasing his ability to lead and develop athletes across multiple sports.

A former multi-sport collegiate athlete, Coach Greene competed in track, wrestling, and football. His diverse athletic background informs his coaching approach, emphasizing toughness, conditioning, and well-rounded athletic development.
