Thomas Nolan and I’ve been passionate about football since I was 6 years old. I began my football journey playing flag football, and by age 9, I transitioned into tackle football with the West Lynn Rams, where I played until high school.
In high school, I made the varsity team as a guard and defensive lineman. However, by my sophomore year, I found my true calling in the linebacker positions and continued to play throughout my junior and senior years. Although my senior year started with some turbulence, including a coaching change and several key players transferring, I felt it was important to finish the season with the team I started with. To contribute to the team’s success, I also played guard during my senior year due to injuries, but linebacker has always been my primary position.
I take pride in my defensive abilities and leadership on the field. I was honored to be named captain of the football team starting in my junior year, where I worked hard to inspire my teammates and lead by example. During my junior year, I was the number one tackler in my division and nominated for GBL all star. I earned numerous Defensive Player of the Game honors my junior and senior year. I finished my senior year with a total of 67 tackles.
As I reflect on my high school career, I am proud of the work ethic, leadership, and perseverance I showed despite challenges. My goal is to continue my football journey at the collegiate level and make an impact as a linebacker but I am well rounded to play any position. I’m excited for what the future holds and look forward to the opportunity to play at the next level.
