Coach Howard joined National Preps in 2018 and currently serves as the Director of Scouting for the Western Region, as well as the lead Coach for the National Preps Assist Program. In this role, he oversees regional scouting operations while mentoring and guiding athletes through the recruiting process.
Prior to joining National Preps, Coach Howard was the Vice President and General Manager of XOS/Catapult’s Recruiting & Scouting Division. He also owned and operated NorCal Football Scouting, which became one of the premier scouting services in the region.
A 21-year high school coaching veteran, Coach Howard is entering his 25th year evaluating and scouting high school athletes. Throughout his career, he has identified and delivered comprehensive player evaluations, analysis, and reports to college coaching staffs nationwide, helping programs make informed recruiting decisions.
His experience and expertise have led to his involvement with prestigious selection committees and events, including the U.S. Army All-American Bowl and the Under Armour All-American Game. He has also collaborated with nationally recognized organizations such as The Opening, Elite 11, the Pro Football Hall of Fame, ESPN, and Fox Sports.
Coach Howard is deeply passionate about developing and supporting student-athletes. He firmly believes that when you truly love what you do, it never feels like work — a philosophy that continues to drive his commitment to the athletes and programs he serves.
