Emmitt Baldwin joined the Swain County High School football staff in 2026, serving as the Wide Receivers Coach and Recruiting Coordinator.

Baldwin came to Swain County after beginning his coaching career as a student assistant at Western Carolina University, where he worked primarily with the wide receivers and quarterbacks. He graduated from Western Carolina University in December of 2025. During his two seasons with the Catamounts, Western Carolina fielded one of the top offenses in NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision, ranking No. 1 in total offense in 2023 and No. 3 in total offense in 2024.

While at Western Carolina, Baldwin served under Offensive Coordinators Kade Bell (current Offensive Coordinator at University of Pittsburgh) and Rylan Wells, gaining experience in offensive structure, game planning, and skill development within an up-tempo system.

Following his time at Western Carolina, Baldwin continued his coaching development at Franklin High School, where he assisted with the wide receivers and defensive backs.

A native of Sylva, North Carolina, Baldwin graduated from Smoky Mountain High School in 2019. As a player, he earned All-Conference honors in 2018 while competing at wide receiver and defensive back.
