The Dallas Cowboys and Jerry Jones have re-engaged contract talks with quarterback Dak Prescott.
Prescott is the first quarterback in Cowboys history to have the franchise tag applied to him.
Cowboys re-engaged in negotiations with CAA agent Todd France and is expected to include a new exchange of proposals.
A team source said the NFL currently shows a $26,824,000 charge to the team’s salary cap for Prescott, even though he has not signed the franchise tender.
With the exclusive franchise tag, the Cowboys have until July 15 to work out a long-term deal. If a deal isn’t reached, Prescott will be forced to play in 2020 on the tag.
